Blacksburg is a great place to enjoy the outdoors. However, Hokies should always plan to practice sun safety! Whether it's watching a football game in Lane, playing intramural sports, running 5ks, tubing the new river, cycling through the mountains, or hiking the Cascades, make sure to apply sunscreen properly, stay in the shade as much as possible, and make sure to re-apply!
Tips for a great time outside:

- Always Avoid Tanning beds
- Watch for Signs of Sun Damage and Get Your Skin Checked Annually
- Wear Sunglasses, Hats, and other Protective Clothing
