Hokie Wellness provides students with the knowledge, skills and opportunities to make quality health decisions and learn how to live healthy lives.
From our Healthy Hokie Workshops that focus on specific self-help techniques for common health concerns to our 21st Birthday Project and Tobacco-Free Hokie T-Shirt campaigns, Hokie Wellness is dedicated to offering the most up-to-date and relevant healthy living information available to students. Hokie Wellness offers a wide range of services including individual and group consultations, assessment, advocacy, outreach and prevention programming.
Classes are facilitated by Peer Educators under the supervision of professional staff. Other services, such as one-on-one consultations, are provided by a health educator, licensed practicing counselor (LPC), or a doctoral or master's level health professional who may be (but not necessarily) a licensed practicing counselor (LPC) or under supervision by an LPC. While we do administer assessments, we do not make formal clinical diagnoses.
