Recovery Ally Training

The Virginia Tech Recovery Community endeavors to create an environment where students in or seeking recovery feel accepted, are comfortable asking for and receiving help, and where their achievements are celebrated. By becoming a Recovery Ally, you are declaring to students in or seeking recovery that you embody these ideals.

The Virginia Tech Recovery Community and Hokie Wellness are offering an interactive training session on recovery from addiction, ways to eliminate stigma, and how to become a Recovery Ally. Once you complete the training, you will receive a sticker to show others that you support individuals in recovery and strive to make your environment inclusive.

The training covers:

  • An overview of addiction and recovery
  • Recovery friendly language
  • The recovery community on campus
  • How to connect students with RC@VT
  • More ways to get involved

Please email rc@vt.edu to be put on the mailing list for details of the next recovery ally training. Recovery Ally Training is available thanks to the Howard Hughes Medical Institute grant funding.
