What to expect
At our meetings you can expect to see students from a range of majors, freshmen through seniors, PhD students and the occasional faculty or staff member in recovery will drop in. We speak about where we are at in our life, our recovery or simply what is top of mind, and help each other through sharing our own experience and what works for us. There is not a minimum requirement of recovery to attend this meeting, you can be in recovery, trying to achieve recovery or just wanting to learn more. All that we ask is that you are abstinent on the day you attend.
If you are nervous about going to your first meeting, you can meet one of us first in person by emailing rc@vt.edu or by phone 540-231-2233.

Other Local Resources
The On-Campus Recovery Meeting is open to those in recovery of any kind (not just substance use). The group has no official affiliation with Virginia Tech and does not follow any particular methodology (AA, NA, etc.). We have found that sharing our respective and overlapping experiences and lessons in healing, as well as our shared involvement in the VT community, has been helpful to each of us on our journeys. We would like to share this gathering and opportunity with anyone who would benefit from it, and to invite your input - toward a goal of always improving!
We are conscious of, and attend to, anonymity and confidentiality as much as we possibly can given that this is an open group. We believe these are crucial aspects of recovery, and particularly within the various potential aspects of being a part of such an interconnected community.
The group currently meets on Fridays at noon, at the North End Center, often in room 2470. There are occasional changes to location, and we also enjoy going for walks during nice weather!
To be added to the listserv for location changes, updates, etc., email benjamincamerondavis@gmail.com.
