Music & Writing

Interest Groups provide opportunities for employees to connect, share experiences, and engage in activities they are passionate about.

They serve as a platform for employees to come together and foster connections both within the workplace and the wider community. Most groups are independent initiatives and are not affiliated with or endorsed by Virginia Tech. Any Virginia Tech-affiliated groups are open to all employees. Additionally, some groups may have fees associated with membership.

• Blacksburg Community Strings
  • Rehearsals take place on Monday, 7-9 p.m. at Blacksburg United Methodist Church.
• Blacksburg Master Chorale
  • Auditions are required and take place in August and January each year.
• Writers Club
  • Whether you enjoy writing poems, short stories, novels, or just want to explore the practice of writing. You are invited to attend! This group is open to all Virginia Tech faculty, staff, and students. Email Corey Miles at mcmiles@vt.edu for details about monthly meetups.
