Options if Reaching TimelyCare Counseling Session Limit

If you wish to continue with TimelyCare:

• You can pay $79 a session until you receive 12 more free sessions in August each year. If you have insurance, you may be able to submit a receipt of the service to your insurer for partial reimbursement. We recommend calling your insurance provider first for more information specific to your plan to see if they will cover any of the out of network cost.

If you have health insurance through Virginia Tech:

• You have access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This program can help you find a mental health counselor. Both in-person and virtual options may be available depending on your insurer. The first four sessions are free through this program. Additional sessions require a co-pay based on your insurance plan. The service is available 24/7.

If you do not have insurance through the university or are seeking community resources we suggest the following:

• For other campus locations, your TimelyCare clinician should have a “Client Card” which may have additional resources specific to your area.
• If you are in Virginia, we also recommend finding your local Community Service Board to access additional services.
