Annie Chalmers-WIlliams, LCSW, CAADC
Annie is the Assistant Director of Substance Misuse Prevention for Hokie Wellness. She is the supervisor of the IMPACT Peer Education Team, manages the REVIVE opioid overdose program on campus, facilitates workshops, events, and outreach that aim to teach students prevention education and harm-reduction skills around alcohol and other substances.
Annie received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Visual Arts, with a minor in Women and Gender Studies from Elon University. She completed her Education Certificate at UNC Asheville and her Master’s degree in Advanced Generalist Social Work from Western Carolina University. Prior to working at Virginia Tech, Annie was a therapist in community mental health and group private practice, served in tribal mental health and addiction treatment in Indian Health Services, and taught public school as a First-Grade teacher and AP Art instructor.
Annie is passionate about promoting student wellbeing, community belonging, and making genuine connections with others. In her free time, she loves to create mixed media art, hike, garden, read, watch movies, and go on adventures with her family, friends, and dogs.
