Learn How to Quit Vaping/Smoking in 30 Minutes

A 30-minute workshop designed to jump start your quitting process. Whether you're looking to quit yourself or assist a loved one, this workshop is for you. Open to any student, employee, or community member.

What we will cover?

  • Gain a Basic Understanding of Quitting: Learn about the quitting process, including the challenges and strategies involved.
  • Discover Resources: Explore a variety of tools and support options, such as quitlines, appointments, apps, insurance coverage, and nicotine replacement therapies.
  • Start Crafting a Quit Plan: Get the information needed to begin creating a personalized plan for quitting.

What should I expect and not expect?

  • Most people who smoke or vape (and those who care about them) don't know about all the quitting resources available. Many of them are free or inexpensive.
  • Rest assured, this is a structured educational session. This is not a support group or quitting program. You can, of course, participate and ask questions, but nobody is going to pressure you to quit. This is a welcoming atmosphere where we encourage you, and discuss ways that you can increase your success when you are ready to make a quitting attempt.

Who will be there with me?

  • It depends. It could be people who want to quit, or people who want to learn about it (so they can pass it on to their friends and family members who smoke or vape). There might be a handful or a roomful of people.

Am I really going to quit smoking and vaping in 30 minutes?

  • No, you are not. As the title states, you will learn about "how to quit", resources available to you, and hopefully walk away with more motivation and confidence.

Important Workshop Details and Ground Rules

  • Timing: Arrive 5-10 minutes early. We will start promptly at 15 minutes after the hour and end at 15 until the hour. Please plan to stay for the entire session.
  • Duration: 30 minutes

  • Format: Walk-in, no signups required.
  • Device Use Policy: To maintain a focused learning environment for everyone, we don't allow phone/device/laptop use during the workshop. Please leave your devices off during the workshop.
